ISPS and Safety

For the ISPS code and the general safety at our yard, we herewith would like to state the following instructions:

  • It is essential that the instructions will be met and that you will take care of sharing the instructions with the people (f.e. crew) you are responsible for.
  • If these instructions will not be followed, access to our terminal will be denied.
  • Each and every person that will enter our premises is obligated to follow the yard safety Introduction.

Report before arrival:

Arrival via waterside:

Before the vessel/ship will berth at our terminal, you should inform This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. with the following information: ( Min 24 hours prior arrival )

  • Estimated date and time of arrival; 
  • Ships name and IMO number: 
  • Crew list including ID numbers(and possible crew changes); 
  • Loading list and stowage plan (including already shipped cargo in holds/on deck); 
  • Name and contact details of agent / captain / shipping line 
  • Name and contact details of Ship Security Officer (S.S.O.) and, if needed, Company Security Officer (C.S.O.). 

Arrival via road (suppliers): 

Before goods are to be picked up / delivered to yard you should inform  This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  and your Terminal contact person with the following information: ( Min 24 hours prior arrival )

  • Estimated date and time of arrival; 
  • Packing list of the goods; 
  • Name and ID number of the driver who will pick up / deliver the goods; 
  • Licence plate number of the truck/car; 
  • Name and contact details of the person responsible for the delivery / pick up. 

Arrival via road (persons): 

Before third parties arrive to the yard you should inform This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it.  and your contact  person with the following information: 

  • Estimated date and time of arrival; 
  • Name and ID number of the person who want to enter the terminal 
  • Purpose of the visit; 
  • Licence plate number of the truck/car; 
  • Name of the contact person who will receive the person. 

Safety instructions:

The terminal has safety instructions and test on www.dutchoffshorebase.com/safety. It is mandatory to watch the instructions, fill in you details and do the test. When the test is passed you will receive a certificate wich is valid for a year.

Entering the yard: 

At arrival you have to report yourself to the yard Security at the gate. 

The security will verify the following details : 

  • If the visit is reported; 
  • The ID details by making a photocopy of the persons ID; 
  • Your Safety Introduction Certificate; 
  • The goods to be delivered; 
  • If the person is in the possession of (and wears) his/hers Personal Protection Equipment (PPE’s) . 

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) 

At the Terminal the Dutch ”ARBO-wet” (HSE-regulation) is applicable. 

At the Terminal the policy is to wear your PPE at all times (except inside the offices, canteens, toilets and the pedestrian route (marked with yellow lines)).The minimum PPE is: 

  • Safety Boots (S3); 
  • Safety glasses and hi-vis vests
  • Safety Helmet (EN 397).

When you have to work at height (= 2.5 meter) or work with an aerial lift platform or on scaffolding, you  should arrange substantial fall protection equipment (ARBO-policy (beleidsregel) 3.16) 

You have to arrange the Personal Protective Equipment yourself. 

Please be aware that the following activities are been carried out at the yard: 

  • Lifting activities; 
  • Movements of cranes, truck, forklifts, etc.; 
  • Loading and discharging of trucks and ships/vessels; 
  • Hot work (f.e. welding and cutting); 
  • Etc., etc. 

Maximum speed at the terminal: 10 km/h

Emergency respons: 

In the event that you are (in-) directly involved with an incident or any other calamity, immediately contact the Terminal reception or -after normal working hours -security! They will call out the internal and external emergency services.
